Small wins lead to big changes

Kia ora koutou,

It’s often said that a journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step.

As an Employment Coach, I get to see the truth of this every day.

When we first meet, the idea of finding a new job or starting a new career can feel overwhelming, like a massive mountain to climb.

But the most important work often happens in the small, early wins.

I love seeing the ripple effect of these successes.

Maybe it’s a tenant who finally gets their CV up-to-date and feels a sense of accomplishment. Or someone who has a great conversation at a job fair and feels a new confidence to talk about their skills.

It could even be as simple as making a new connection with a fellow tenant who can share their experience.

These small wins are far more than just little checkboxes on a to-do list.

They build momentum and fuel a quiet but powerful optimism.

They prove that you’re capable of making progress, which makes the next step feel a little less daunting.

That feeling of "I can do this" is contagious, and it can be the spark that leads to bigger, more significant changes down the track.

My role is to help people see and celebrate these victories, no matter how small they seem.

Think about your first steps, build on that early momentum, and turn your small wins into a big, positive change for your future.

Until next time!

Logan
