Affordable Rental at Carey Street
A quality home. A fair price. A better way to rent.
A great home can change everything.
At Carey Street, eligible working families can rent a modern home that's warm, thoughtfully designed and professionally managed — all at a fair rent that helps make family life more affordable.
This opportunity is a government-supported initiative that’s unique to Carey Street. If you think it could be the right fit for your family, you'll find everything you need to know below.
What are the homes like?
The homes at Carey Street have been designed with modern family living in mind.
Each home is warm, energy efficient and easy to maintain, with open-plan living, contemporary kitchens and bathrooms, private outdoor spaces and thoughtful design that makes the most of natural light.
The homes form part of a carefully planned, award-winning neighbourhood close to parks, schools, shops and buses. Landscaping and quality construction create a place where families can feel settled, connected and proud to call home.
Because the homes are owned and managed by ŌCHT, you'll also enjoy the confidence of professional tenancy management, dedicated in-house maintenance management and a landlord committed to the long term.
What is Affordable Rental at Carey Street?
Affordable Rental at Carey Street helps make modern family housing more accessible for working households.
The homes are offered at 79% of market rent through a government-supported initiative that recognises many working families earn too much to qualify for public housing but still find it difficult to afford a quality home in the private rental market.
By reducing the cost of rent while maintaining the quality of the home, the initiative helps families enjoy greater housing stability and keep more of their income for the things that matter most.
