- The Tenant Advisory Group – we call it TAG – seeks inclusive, tenant-empowered ways to enrich the lives of OCHT tenants.
TAG was formed in 2017 and has a committee of more than a dozen OCHT tenants.
The group committee meets monthly. It’s an advisory body: it provides advice to the Trust about things affecting tenants. It also organises tenant-led social activities to improve tenant wellbeing.
Its areas of interest are:
- Social activities
- Tenant health and wellbeing
- Maintenance and new developments
- Policies and advice
TAG has successfully organised and led bus trips for tenants to Hanmer Springs and Akaroa, more trips are in the pipeline. Such activities help encourage tenants to get out and enjoy their communities and connect with other people, making new friends.
TAG also worked with OCHT to organise social High Teas at complexes with lounges to encourage greater use of these spaces. It continues to develop social activities to encourage more involvement and connectivity from all OCHT tenants.
TAG also provides input on communications between the Trust and tenants such as letters, social media and newsletters.
TAG members also see new development plans and are kept up-to-date throughout the new build processes. This helps ensure tenant comments and feedback are considered and applied to the plans.
The Trust is committed to including TAG, where possible, on matters directly affecting tenants.
