Karoro Lane in pictures

It was called a soft opening – but there’s nothing soft in what Karoro Lane will achieve.

Ōtautahi Community Housing Trust’s latest development opened on April 16, adding another 32 homes to Christchurch’s community housing stocks.

Contactor Southbase Construction handed the keys to Ōtautahi Community Housing Trust a month earlier than scheduled. The first tenants arrived quickly afterwards.

Some were in the intimate crowd when ŌCHT chairman Alex Skinner and chief executive Cate Kearney officially opened the second of three communities on the Brougham St development.

New tenants Te Ariki and Bernice helped cut the ribbon, which will be sewn-up and re-used at the next opening, at nearby Hoiho Lane, next month.

You can read more about the opening here.
