Ed Leeson is the Commercial and Development Manager at Ōtautahi Community Housing Trust. He joined the team a little over three months ago with the job of overseeing the design, master planning, contract negotiations and finance for approximately 50-100 new community housing homes each year.
He is currently working on the development of four new OCHT complexes and has two more in the pipeline. The four new complexes are due to be completed in 2020 and 2021. They are located in Charles Street in Waltham, Hasting Street in Sydenham and Cresselly Place in St Martins and Brougham Street . In total 130 new homes will be built. Many families in need will have a high quality home to live in.
Ed says delivering good quality homes for people is important and it’s what drives him.
“I get great satisfaction from completing a job and getting it done. I have worked in the construction industry for over a decade as a construction project manager and this is what gets me out of bed in the morning. The role with OCHT appealed to me because it is interesting, it’s different to what I’ve done before and it has been a rewarding and positive experience.”
