How do I apply for a home?

Who do we accept?

ŌCHT accepts new tenants from the Ministry of Social Development’s Social Housing Register. We don’t have many vacancies, so this helps us allocate them to those most in need.

How to apply

If you need social housing, you need to apply to be on the Ministry of Social Development’s Social Housing Register.

You do that by calling MSD on 0800 559 009.

You can find out more about the social housing register on the Work and Income website.

What then?

MSD will assess your needs and decide whether you are accepted on to the register.

They will let you know if you are placed on the register.

We will get in touch if we have a suitable vacancy, to see if what we have meets your needs.
